Forensics called to street with houses taped off in south Manchester

Police were called to the scene in the early hours of Monday morning

Forensics were called to a street in south Manchester with a row of houses taped off on Monday (March 3). Police and CSI teams were called to reports of a disturbance on Burnage Lane.

Pictures from the scene showed police vehicles and tape surrounding a row of four homes near to St Bernards RC Primary School and the nearby church.

It’s understood that officers were called to the disturbance at around 12.30am and that three men, aged 16, 37, and 44 were arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault.

Two of the males, who were later arrested, received injuries and were taken to hospital from the scene on Monday morning. Witnesses also reported seeing crime scene investigation vans and forensics officers outside the properties.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “At 12:30am this morning, we were called to reports of a disturbance at Burnage Lane, Manchester.

“Emergency services attended, and three men, aged 16, 37, and 44 were arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault. They remain in police custody for questioning.”
