Crews spent two hours at the scene
Flames soared from the moors near Bury as crews battled a fire in Rossendale.
Bright orange flames and smoke could be seen for miles around after a wildfire broke out in Edenfield on Tuesday evening (March 11).
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service says crews were called out to the scene at 6.50pm.
One fire engine was sent to the scene from Rawtenstall station, alongside a Hagglund vehicle which is used by firefighters working on difficult terrain.
Specialist equipment was also used by firefighters on the ground, with crews spending two hours at the scene on Tuesday night.
In an update posted online, a Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “At 18:50 on March 11, 2025, one fire engine and the Hagglund vehicle from Rawtenstall attended a wildfire on Edenfield, Rawtenstall.
“Firefighters used beaters, blowers and utilised Haggulund vehicle to extinguish the fire.
“Crews were in attendance for two hours.”
