F1 next heads to the famous Sin City strip for the second edition of the Las Vegas Grand Prix and round 22 of the 2024 season.
Max Verstappen is on the cusp of a fourth successive world championship after his masterful drive in the wet at the last race in Brazil. With a 62-point advantage over Lando Norris with three races remaining, the Dutchman can clinch the title in Vegas if he finishes above the McLaren driver.
Lewis Hamilton will be eyeing a strong showing after a weekend to forget in Sao Paulo, as his time as a Mercedes driver nears its end before his 2025 move to Ferrari.
Verstappen won last year’s inaugural race in Vegas, when Charles Leclerc claimed second place on the last lap with an overtake on Sergio Perez.

“It was a tight quali. Closer to pole than what I was expecting, very happy. We’re in a good position for tomorrow.
“Tomorrow, we could be fighting at the front. We have the chance to go for the win, I feel like today Mercedes were very quick at switching those tyres on. Tomorrow is a clean sheet, new start.
“We need wins to beat McLaren, they have a big gap in the championship.”

“It feels incredible to be back on pole. I knew it would be on that last Q3 lap, there was a moment where I thought we wouldn’t make the flag. So happy! We have to do some deep diving as to why we’re so quick this weekend, it’s been a big surprise.
“Ultimately, you have to put it on the table sometimes! To get pole position is incredible but we need to return it with some big points.”
