EY appoints Julie Linn Teigland as global alliances and ecosystem chief

Julie Linn Teigland has been named a global vice chair for Big Four firm EY. She will head up its alliances and ecosystems practice.

Raj Sharma, EY’s global managing partner for growth and innovation, commented, “Heightened focus and investments in our strategic relationships will be critical for the EY organisation to grow and maximise the potential of our ecosystem, enabling innovation, market expansion and scalable growth. As Julie steps into this new global role, she brings an outstanding mix of market knowledge, business acumen and vision.”

This elevated status for EY’s global alliances and ecosystems wing is driven by the firm’s new worldwide strategy, ‘All in.’ Launched last year by EY Global Chair and CEO, Janet Truncale, one of its core tenants is ensuring the EY organisation’s globally integrated, multi-disciplinary network continues to lead through this rapidly evolving technology-centric era.

Stepping up to lead that effort, Teigland brings more than 30 years of proven experience in professional services. She started her professional career in 1990 and has previously held several other leadership roles within the EY international practice, since joining EY in 2001.

In 2019, she joined the Big Four firm’s global executive, serving as area managing partner for EY Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA). In that time, she has been a driving force behind the geographic area’s revenue growth to $22 billion. Looking ahead, she will lead the growth of strategic alliances, expand the EY ecosystem, and develop new collaboration with established and emerging market players around the globe to jointly help EY clients in their transformation journeys.

Teigland added, “An ecosystem of strategic alliances is critical to driving innovation, scaling knowledge, and delivering solutions with greater speed and impact. In an ever-changing landscape, alliances help ensure that the EY organization will continue to create new value for clients. I look forward to accelerating collaboration with our existing and new strategic collaborators around the globe as we help EY clients in their transformation journeys – together.”
