‘Exceptional game, exceptional result’: PM Modi congratulates Team India on Champions Trophy win | India News

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Team India on winning the Champions Trophy 2025 by four wickets against New Zealand in Dubai on Sunday. The Men in Blue clinched the title for a record third time.

Minutes after India ended a 12-year wait to clinch a record-extending third Champions Trophy title, beating New Zealand in the CT 2025 final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, PM Modi congratulated the Indian team led by Rohit Sharma, saying that the team had made a ‘splendid display’ during the tournament.

“An exceptional game and an exceptional result! Proud of our cricket team for bringing home the ICC Champions Trophy. They’ve played wonderfully through the tournament. Congratulations to our team for the splendid all-around display,” he wrote.

The win helped India break the tie with Australia with a record third Champions Trophy title, adding onto the wins in 2002 (shared with Sri Lanka) and 2013.
