Andrews has covered dozens of NFL games over that period, including numerous Super Bowls.

But one emotional encounter sticks out for the sportscaster among all the rest.

Andrews worked the sideline for the 2024 NFC Championship Game between the San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions.

Detroit led 24-7, but collapsed in the second half to eventually lose 34-31.

Andrews spoke about the game to her Fox NFL colleague Charissa Thompson on their YouTube podcast Calm Down.

And she revealed emotions were high for both teams after a draining encounter.

“You want reality of how hard these guys work?” Andrews asked Thompson.

“Go to the postgame celebration when you’ve got Trent Williams’ daughters holding onto that huge man crying because he’s 35-years-old and he’s never been to a Super Bowl.

“You’ve got Kyle Shanahan’s wife balling in his arms.”

Andrews also described seeing devastated Lions head coach Dan Campbell struggling to leave the field after the loss.

“It made my heart hurt,” Andrews admitted.

“This is their lives. It’s hard when you see people pile on.”

There was more heartbreak to come for the Lions a year later.

Campbell led his side to a 15-2 regular season, with Detroit seen as genuine Super Bowl contenders.

But they went down 45-31 in a shock Divisional playoff loss to the Washington Commanders.

In the build-up to Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, Andrews revealed she had been battling a debilitating eye issue.

“I just thought it was my eyes being tired,” Andrews told Athletech.

“I thought maybe it was just because I’m looking at my screen so much.

“My eyes always kind of feel a little scratchy, gritty. I’m always like wiping them or trying to blink. I just thought that that’s how it was.

“Turns out, I’m an idiot, and my doctor’s like, ‘No, that’s dry eye.'”

Despite her issue, Andrews was still able to cover the Philadelphia Eagles’ win over the Kansas City Chiefs from the sideline.
