Emmerdale may have teased the long awaited reunion of Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle, known as Robron to loyal fans, after a hint in spoilers for next week on the ITV soap
Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle feature in new Emmerdale scenes next week, and a reunion could be teased.
Fans will no doubt be hoping it means a reconciliation is on the cards, as they make amends amid recent drama. There is the obstacle of course of Aaron being married to John Sugden, Robert’s brother.
That hasn’t stopped Robert from trying to win back the love of his life though, but currently he’s been rejected. He’s feeling rather defeated by this, but he’s currently utterly focussed on exposing villain John.
Robert is convinced John killed Nate Robinson, which is correct, but given John is the village hero, no one believes Robert’s theory about John being a baddie. Next week, spoilers reveal John seems to be meddling some more.
We know that this week he targets Robert, and manages to find out some dirt on him. But next week he changes his tune, while there has to be an ulterior motive as there always is.
Much to Robert’s surprise no doubt, John will push husband Aaron to go easier on Robert. Aaron is continuing to give his ex a hard time over ongoing drama in the village, no doubt fuelled by their years apart when Robert was imprisoned.

After all, it was Robert who dumped Aaron and wanted a divorce in the belief he would never leave prison. So when he was able to appeal his conviction and was released, Robert suddenly wanted his life back, including Aaron, not fully considering the fact that Aaron had to move on, and had done so.
Of course Robert isn’t alone though in wanting a reunion, as fans are desperate for this too. It’s within reach it seems, and next week the pair have their most ‘friendly’ chat in a long time in that they clear the air.
No drama, just talking, as the pair likely address recent events and seemingly come to an understanding. There’s an uncomfortable moment in the shop that causes John to leave, while this isn’t really explained.
It’s off the back of John telling Aaron to go easy on his brother, and it’s said Aaron is “skeptical” while again Aaron’s reservations are not fully detailed. So it ends up that Robert and Aaron go for a coffee to clear the air.
While things are awkward initially, it’s Robert claiming he is considering leaving the village that gets a reaction from Aaron according to the ITV spoilers. It’s hinted in the spoiler lines that he doesn’t want this to happen, as he’s quick to in not so many words prevent it from happening.
He tells Robert he’s “valued”, trying to encourage him to stick around despite only months ago wanting him gone. Aaron’s tone is reassuring, so it’s clear he wants him to reconsider going – and it’s clear he wants him around.
Despite the awkwardness of being married to his brother and their feud, Aaron doesn’t want Robert to leave and this gives the latter hope. We’d say this is the biggest clue yet, after cast members shared their reunion predictions with The Mirror, that the former couple do still have a future, and would give things another go.
After all, Aaron could have told Robert he’s right to leave, but the fact he clearly doesn’t want this for him, never mind the fact he reassures him so that he stays around, is surely a sign that there’s feelings there. The biggest clue off the back of this is that John’s a killer who must face his comeuppance at some point for his crimes.
Aaron doesn’t even seem bothered by John’s feelings now regarding Robert, given that he’s trying to keep him in the village. So imagine how unbothered he would be about John’s thoughts on Robert if John was to be exposed! There’s definitely scope here for Robron to reunite.
