Emmerdale star Beth Cordingly has been flooded with support as she told fans she’d ‘lost again’ while hilariously addressing her ‘unhappy’ appearance at her latest awards bash.
The actress was among the ITV soap’s stars representing the show at this year’s Television and Radio Industries Club (TRIC) awards, where she was up for a gong.
Beth, who fans will know for playing Ruby Milligan in Emmerdale, was nominated in the category Soap Actor at the event, which took place on Tuesday (June 24) at London’s Grosvenor House, while Emmerdale was also up for the Soap of the Year gong.
But both Beth and Emmerdale missed out on the night, with the Soap Actor award going to EastEnders legend Steve McFadden for his protrayal of Phil Mitchel in the show, while the BBC One soap was also given the overall soap award.
Following the awards bash, Beth took to Instagram with a new video, in which she poked fun at her pictures from the red carpet as she confirmed she did have a nice time.
She said with a laugh: “Even in the picture of me arriving at the TRIC awards, I don’t look very happy to be there, I have actually had a really nice time at this afternoon and this evenings TRIC awards.
“Thank you to everybody who voted for me to be on the shortlist for the nominations for best soap actor. I didn’t win, obviously, because Steve McFadden won. But thank you for voting for me, it’s a real honour.”
Beth then captioned her video: “@mrdanwalker I had a lovely time. Hurrah #emmerdale #soaps #actor #lostagain.” But fans were quick to claim her as ‘their winner’.
