The road was shut for a number of hours
Drivers are being warned to expect disruption ahead of rush hour after a town centre road was closed.
Police closed off part of New Market Street, in Wigan, earlier this morning (Thursday, February 20). It followed a crash which took place at around 2.05am today, according to Greater Manchester Police.
It’s understood a person was taken to hospital with injuries which are not thought to be serious.
The B5375 New Market Street was closed in both directions between Market Street and the B5376 Northway, according to traffic monitoring service Inrix.
The road, near Mesnes Park, was shut for a number of hours but has since reopened to traffic. But motorists are being warned of slow moving traffic in the area.
An update from Inrix said: “New Market Street in both directions busy but moving due to earlier incident from Market Street to B5376 Northway. Road reopened.”
Further details about the collision are yet to be confirmed.
