Driver found dead in vehicle on 110 Freeway in South Los Angeles

Authorities are investigating after a driver was found dead in their vehicle on the 110 Freeway in South Los Angeles Thursday night.

California Highway Patrol received calls about a possible shooting shortly before 10 p.m. 

Sky5 footage shows the victim’s vehicle, an older model Toyota Corolla, stopped on the southbound transition road from the 110 Freeway to the eastbound 105 Freeway.

A person was found slumped over in the driver’s seat and was later removed from the vehicle, however, CHP has not confirmed how the person died. There were reports of a possible shooting, but officials have not yet confirmed those details.

A Sigalert was issued around 10:45 p.m. and lanes on both the northbound and southbound 110 transition road to the eastbound 105 Freeway were shut down to traffic.

Authorities were seen scouring the nearby roads for possible evidence. No suspect was located at the scene.

The driver’s identity was not released as the incident remains under investigation.
