A double shooting has left one person dead in Markham.

York Regional Police say the shooting occurred around 6:30 a.m. Friday on Solace Road, in the Castlemore Ave. and Swan Park Rd. area.
Officers found two victims, one deceased. A dog was also reportedly found shot dead.
The status of the second victim was not immediately known.
Two suspects fled in a dark-coloured sedan, police said.
An update was expected around 11 a.m.
