Dog, whose real name is Duane Chapman, is married to Francie, whose son Gregory Zecca, 38, reportedly killed his teenage son Anthony at their apartment in Naples, Florida.

The freak accident occurred on Saturday night.

Dog, 78, is not directly related to Zecca or his tragic teenage son – since he was born during Francie’s previous marriage.

Police confirmed that they responded to a call about a shooting at around 8pm local time.

No arrests have been made yet in what they described as an “isolated incident”.

An investigation into the circumstances of the horrific accident is still ongoing.

A spokesperson for Dog and Francie told TMZ: “We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony.”

Dog and his wife married in 2021 after each of their partners passed away.

They said they bonded over their shared grief during their relationship.

Zecca reportedly works with Dog on his bounty hunting team alongside Dog’s daughter, Lyssa.

Dog’s step-son was also a gun enthusiast – and has previously shared photos of him “getting some range tine in” with his son and their rifle back in 2021.

Reality personality Dog is a renowned bounty hunter and former bail bondsman.

In a 2010 interview with The Guardian, Chapman revealed the hidden meaning behind his name.

Chapman told the media outlet: “When I was in a motorcycle gang I was made sergeant of arms.

“He’s the smallest guy with the biggest mouth who starts all the fights.

“The club president called me ‘God spelled backwards’ because I spoke about God and I was man’s best friend.

“In the bounty hunter world it turned into ‘this dog can hunt’.”

Chapman rose to fame as a bounty hunter in 2003, after his successful capture of Max Factor heir Andrew Luster in Mexico.

He went on to catch more than 10,000 fugitives according to an interview published in The New York Times back in January of 2020.

This is not the first time the bounty hunter has been plagued by a freak tragedy.

The night before his wedding with former partner Beth in 2006, Dog received the horrific news that his daughter Barbara, 23, had been killed in a car accident while in a stolen SUV in Alaska.
