
Delhi News Live Updates: New Delhi woke up to a foggy New Year’s morning as shallow to moderate fog blanketed the city on Wednesday, impacting visibility and adding to the winter chill. The maximum temperature was recorded at a mild 18.0°C, while the mercury plunged to a cold 8.0°C during the early hours.
Adding to the challenges, the capital’s air quality took a turn for the worse, falling into the ‘poor’ category. At 8 am, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was measured at 278, reflecting heightened pollution levels.
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi launched the registration for the ‘Pujari Granthi Samman Yojana’ on Tuesday at Gurdwara Sahib in Karol Bagh. She also addressed concerns by writing to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena regarding the Religious Committee’s order for the demolition of several religious structures. The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for February 2025.
