A day after the launch of the space docking mission, Union Science Minister Dr Jitendra Singh said on Tuesday that the entry of private players in the sector and Isro carrying out big-ticket missions such as Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya L1 have generated a lot of awareness and curiosity among the people for the field. “Space has given us space in the media as well,” the minister said.

Several Union ministers who sit at Krishi Bhawan spent the year-end visiting religious shrines. Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, along with his family, visited Tiruptati Balaji temple on Monday. Animal Husbandry Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, who was in Varanasi to inspect a biogas plant, visited Kashi Vishwanath temple on Monday. His deputy S P Singh Baghel visited Shri Peetambra Peeth temple at Datia and Shri Ramraja temple at Orchha in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday.

Even as six months have passed since the Lok Sabha elections, the ruling BJP’s report on its 2024 general election spending is yet to be released by the EC on its website. Out of the six national parties, the mandatory election expenditure reports of two — the BJP and the National People’s Party — are not yet available on the poll panel’s website. Parties have 90 days’ time to submit their expenditure details to the EC.
