Lost And Found?
A farmer drilling a borewell in a Rajasthan village struck what is suspected to be an underground aquifer on Saturday, causing water to gush out until New Year’s Eve. While the local administration is still looking into the source of the water, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has hailed the incident as the reappearance of the lost Saraswati river. In a statement, a VHP national spokesperson claimed that the borewell was being drilled in the farm of a VHP worker and called for a thorough investigation to confirm “popular belief” that the Saraswati has returned.
