Cruz is the youngest son of David and Victoria Beckham
David Beckham’s son is seemingly following in his mum’s footsteps as opposed to his dads. Cruz is the youngest son of David and wife Victoria Beckham.
David and Victoria welcomed their son Cruz in 2005 and he is one of four children. His siblings are Brooklyn, Romeo and Harper. Cruz regularly shares insights into his personal life on social media and has recently uploaded a snippet of himself on stage.
Victoria found fame with the Spice Girls in the 90s, they became the best-selling girl group of all time and sold over 100 million records worldwide. Her son will be hoping to replicate the success his mum achieved as he embarks on his own music career.
In the video uploaded by Cruz, he could be clearly heard singing “I wanna be John Lennon”, in a solo vocal performance. The 20-year-old, who is currently in a relationship with 29-year-old Brazilian-German songwriter Jackie Apostel hasn’t yet released any music but his teasers suggest something is in the process of being created.
Posting to his Instagram and TikTok accounts, the short video of his song shows Cruz and another person performing in a studio through a red filter and fish-eye lens effect. While he’s not formally dropped any music, just after Christmas, he shared a tease from a song.
The lyrics teased were “Call me if you’re looking for some fun I’ll slip you through the needle of my eye. Love’s a word that money cannot buy lusting for destruction, just to find some satisfaction, turning evil into action for your love.”
In the comments of his Instagram posts, fans are often asking when released are to be expected. One fan wrote “Waiting to hear some talent….” another wrote “Cruzie you’re so talented.”
Another clip of him playing Sultans of Swing by the Dire Straits was met with a wave of support. Comments include “Legit one of the greatest songs of all time, absolute skills here man” and “damn, this is wow.”
Others added “I absolutely love this!!! It’s usually the first song I tell guitarist to play too!!!” and “u did well Cruz!! I’ll wait your album soon <3.”
His career path is different to his siblings, who have tested out many occupations over the years. Romeo, 22, was following in his father’s footsteps as a footballer, but in September seemed to pursue a new venture in fashion like his mum.
The eldest sibling Brooklyn, 26, has also tried out a number of careers over the years. He has released a photography book and has pursued modelling and even worked as a chef.
In a Mother’s Day letter for TIME, Victoria said that watching her kids come into their own has brought her “boundless elation.” Sharing that they are are “a wonder” to her every day.
In 2015, she said “From playing sport to lounging on the sofa, each of my children fill every second with laughter, music and discussion. They are kind-hearted and well-mannered and have incredibly enquiring minds, and I feel incredibly blessed to be surrounded by these phenomenal human beings.”
