Lakeland drivers are being warned they may need to find a route around downtown that doesn’t include Florida Avenue.
CSX has announced it will close the North Florida Avenue railroad crossing, located between Main Street and Pine Street, starting July 19 for infrastructure improvements.

The closure is part of CSX’s larger plan to make critical infrastructural improvements along its Lakeland Subdivison, or the A Line. There will be electronic signage in place. Motorist are being encouraged to use Harden-Sikes Boulevard , as an alternative route.
This closure is expected to last through 10 p.m. July 22.
