A 14-year-old boy is facing charges of assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm after a Valentine’s Day stabbing in Oshawa.

Durham Regional Police responded on Feb. 14, at 10:40 p.m. to a stabbing in the Rideau St.-Saguenay Ave. area after a male and female were in the backyard of a residence when they were confronted by the homeowner.
Police allege the owner chased the pair, at which point the male stabbed him in the upper arm.
The victim attended a local hospital with serious injuries.

2 FROM TORONTO ACCUSED OF ONLINE ROBBERY
A 19-year-old Toronto man and a 16-year-old from Toronto have been charged following an alleged online marketplace robbery.

Toronto Police said on Aug. 19, 2024, it’s alleged the two accused arranged to meet the victim, who had advertised an item for sale online, in the McCowan Rd.-Finch Ave. E. area.
It’s further alleged one suspect grabbed the item from the victim and a struggle ensued while the second suspect sprayed the victim in the face with a substance believed to be bear spray . The duo fled the scene in a motor vehicle.
The 19-year-old has been charged with robbery/assault with intent to steal and disguise with intent. The 16-year-old who can’t be named per the Youth Criminal Justice Act has been charged with robbery with a weapon, administer noxious substance, disguise with intent and weapons dangerous.

PEDESTRIAN STRUCK IN UXBRIDGE
A 20-year-old man was seriously injured following a multi-car crash in Uxbridge on Tuesday at about 10:45 a.m.
Durham Regional Police said the crash happened southbound on Regional Rd. 1, south of Fowlers Rd. in Uxbridge, where police said blowing snow was causing whiteout conditions.
Police said a Kia sedan slowed due to the conditions and was struck from behind which caused a chain reaction of crashes with nine vehicles involved.
Cops said the victim exited his vehicle to help others and was struck by a pick-up truck, which pinned him into a snowbank.
Uxbridge Fire, along with York and Durham EMS, arrived to extract him from the wreckage and snowbank and Ornge Air Ambulance transported him to a Toronto-area trauma centre where he remains with serious life-altering injuries.
Multiple other involved drivers were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries where they were treated and released.
