Toronto Police say the incident happened around 1:55 a.m. at Bathurst St. and Wilson Ave.

Duty Insp. Brian Maslowski said it appears a black SUV and a white BMW were on Wilson Ave. at a high rate of speed. At the intersection, the SUV made it through but the BWM hit the driver’s side of the TTC bus that was southbound on Bathurst.

The bus spun around to face northward, while the BMW caught on fire.

Toronto officers arrived and pulled two people from the vehicle and put out the flames. Two others in the vehicle needed to be rescued from the car by Toronto Fire.

Two people were rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A woman was ejected from the bus but suffered only minor injuries along with the driver and three other passengers.

The intersection of Bathurst and Wilson will be closed for an extended period of time while police investigate. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes.
