(NewsNation) — The search for the suspect in the killing of a couple at Devil’s Den State Park in Arkansas last weekend has entered its fifth day.
Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, were hiking in the park Saturday with their two daughters when they were attacked. The two girls were not injured and are now in the care of family members.
Tony Brueski, host of the “Hidden Killers” podcast, says a couple he spoke with said they saw the suspect on the trail. He told “Banfield” the couple got a weird vibe from the potential perp.
“The couple was together with a brother and sister and a pet dog, and down the trail, they saw a man coming their way, and they immediately found him to be odd,” Brueski said.
“He was by himself. But the way, he was in full black attire, from top to bottom, and on a mission, it seemed, wearing a large mesh backpack that was very out of place.”
Brueski added that as the suspect approached the couple, they described being given a death stare while he looked at them all up and down: “They could sense a bad energy coming off of the guy.”

Along with the couple who saw the suspect, others said they saw the man’s car had duct tape over the license plate on his vehicle. Brueski believes this was a planned attack.
“Based on the dress of the man who was in there with the backpack, he seemed very prepared,” Brueski said.
“Premeditated, planned? Yes. Targeted? I think that’s the big question. Do we have any connection to this couple? Or was this someone going into that park and looking for prey, basically, to put it bluntly, and they went with the ones that they or he went with, the ones that he thought he could attack?”
Police said there were no other people injured on the trail, but are investigating whether the suspect may have injured himself.
A few people have backed up this idea, Brueski said.
“Some of the witnesses that I’ve been talking to do say that there was blood” in the vicinity of the man they witnessed. “I guess one could also wonder, was it from a stabbing attack, or was it blood from the victims? But it’s hard to know at this moment.”
