Coronation Street stars Charlotte Jordan and Lucy Fallon have been flooded with messages from fans as they shared a sweet ‘thank you’ update after Charlotte’s exit from the show.
The actress announced at the start of the year she’d be leaving the ITV soap after spending four years in the role of Daisy Midgeley. . Former Netflix star Charlotte said in a statement at the time: “My time at Coronation Street is something I’ll always cherish.
“After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it’s time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities. It’s been a privilege to be part of a wonderful institution with even more wonderful colleagues who have taught me so much.”
It was then at the end of last month that Charlotte’s co-star Lucy, who is best known for playing Weatherfield’s Bethany Platt, shared a black and white photo of herself and Charlotte. The pair were seen in a close embrace with their arms around one another as they looked towards the camera and smiled.
Captioning the post, the new mum-of-two, who is currently on maternity leave after welcoming her second child, penned: “A love letter 2 @charliejordanxo.”
At the time, fans were quick to respond, with some thinking it signalled the end of Charlotte’s time at Corrie. Charlotte herself took to the comments and said: “I’m not crying you are.” Sally Ann Matthews, who plays Jenny Connor, was also emotional as she replied to Charlotte: “I’m still crying,” before Lucy confirmed: “We’re all crying.”
But just because they’re no longer working on the same show, it doesn’t mean fans won’t see Charlotte and Lucy together as they recently reunited and shared a sweet video on social media in which they proved they are more alike than fans may have thought.
In the clip, Charlotte and Lucy both filmed each other as they smiled and waved at one another from across a table in a coffee shop. They then proceeded to push different items onto the table including their drinks, pairs of sunglasses and lipglosses.
Captioning the post, also shared by Lucy, Charlotte said: “same girl different font. We would like to thank coronation street for the intro ty lysm.” Lucy then commented on the post: “just two besties ty corrie.”
Corrie’s Shona Platt star Julia Goulding also responded to the update, writing in the comments section: “You two are the cutest!” While Sally Carman-Duttine, who plays Abi Webster, replied: “Omgoodness,” alongside a number of crying face emojis and yellow love hearts. Lauren Bolton actress Cait Fitton also shared: “This is cute. Beautiful girliessss.”
