Coronation Street fans said they ‘needed that’ as a popular character returned in the latest episode of the soap.

It was a busy evening on the ITV soap, with popular character Debbie Webster officially diagnosed with vascular dementia.

Viewers’ worst fears were confirmed after fan favourite Debbie began to become more forgetful in recent weeks.

Elsewhere, there was a moment of hope for one veteran character in scenes that aired on Wednesday night (April 9).

Large portions of the instalment followed Kevin Webster as he continued to apologise to anyone he’s recently hurt.

The mechanic, played by Michael Le Vell, has been struggling to keep a positive attitude after recently being diagnosed with cancer.

Earlier in the week, Kevin punched Tyrone Dobbs in the face after he tried his best to try to help him look on the bright side in spite of his health woes.

Kevin apologised to Tyrone on Wednesday, who offered him advice on how to mend the fences with his son Jack Webster.

Furious at Tyrone for getting involved in his personal life, Kevin had previously dismissed the advice and pointed out he doesn’t currently get to see his son Dorin Pop.

After Kevin said sorry to his friend over the personal dig, Tyrone candidly admitted that it’s been hard without his son.

With Tyrone opening up about his son living in Romania with his mum Alina Pop, Tim Metcalfe added that he thinks about his daughter Faye Windass every day after she left in 2023.

The conversation between the three men concluded with Kevin saying that he misses his daughters Rosie and Sophie Webster.

Thankfully, Tyrone didn’t have to wait too long to see Dorin again, who moved to Romania last year, as his wife Fizz Dobbs had a big surprise waiting for him at home.

Little Dorin came storming into the room as Fiz revealed that Dorin will be living with them after his and Alina’s house was damaged by a flood.

Those watching at home took to X, previously known as Twitter, to have their say on the youngster’s unexpected return.

@CharlieBovz said: “Yay, Dorin is back! Cue actors having to think on their feet to deal with his ad libs.” @EdithBo11775637 replied: “Dorin doesn’t have a script, ad lib away lad.”

@CorrieRamblings wrote: “Dorin proving that occasionally the writers do take viewer feedback on board. Shame they didn’t listen to us about Debbie #corrie.” @penniless_poet posted: “Love little Dorin.”

@RyanTheSoapking commented: “Dorin is Tyrone’s mini me.” @callyoubetty posted: “Dorin! We needed that. We needed that cheeky sausage back.”

For those who don’t remember, Tyrone was stunned last year to discover that his former partner Alina had a son without telling him.
