Coronation Street seems to have hinted at the impending demise of a beloved character on the cobbles, and it’s not Max. This week on the soap, the Platt family home was engulfed in flames in dramatic scenes. The fire was sparked after David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) pilfered money from infamous gangster Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor).

In Monday’s episode (February 3), an unknown person threw a lit rag into the Platt residence, causing the house to burst into flames. As the locals watched in terror, Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) feared that Lily (Brooke Malonie) was inside.

Alongside Max (Paddy Bever), they ventured into the burning building, but the situation escalated when Max became trapped. After escaping, Shona informed David just as they prepared to re-enter the house – which then exploded.

Soon, emergency services arrived and managed to extract Max’s unconscious body from the house, rushing him to hospital. It was then revealed that Max was in an induced coma, leaving David and Shona devastated, reports Lancs Live.

However, during Wednesday’s episode (February 5), Max opened his eyes. Meanwhile, David found himself under arrest by police who suspected he started the fire. But now, with Max alive, viewers are speculating that a soap favourite is about to meet their end following a significant ‘clue’.
