A territorial cat showed a nosy coyote who was boss when he sent the canine predator running in Downey over the weekend.
Video taken by a viewer Sunday night and shared with KTLA shows a cat asleep on the front porch of a home as the coyote gets closer and closer.
The cat remains calm and watches the coyote snoop around before deciding enough is enough. “The kitty actually stood up to the coyote and the coyote ran,” the viewer said.
The video posted on YouTube showed the cat arching its back and showing its teeth to the coyote, which quickly dashed away.

The viewer also expressed concerns about the number of coyotes around the area and believes it is due to the massive Southern California wildfires in January.
“People need to keep their pets and children safe. Maybe authorities could do something about the coyote issue to protect squirrels, possums, and other wildlife from being attacked,” the viewer stated in an email.
