Clancy Consulting hires Russel Greenwood as director

Russel Greenwood has joined the Clancy Consulting team as a divisional director. He will operate in the firm’s offices across the North of England.

Clancy Consulting Director Scott Lydon, who oversees building services, commented, “Russel will be instrumental in expanding our MEP offering across the Yorkshire region and the wider M62 corridor, working closely with our established multidiscipline teams in Leeds and Manchester. Demonstrating proven skills in leadership, project and technical knowledge, and client relationship management, we warmly welcome him to the team and the Board and I look forward to supporting his career development here at Clancy.”

Founded in 1972, Clancy Consulting provides a multi-discipline engineering design, building surveying and advisory service across the built environment. Across 10 UK offices, the Manchester-headquartered firm’s specialist engineering fields include pre-planning, building appraisal, civil, structural, building services, and geo-environmental.

Based across Clancy’s Leeds and Manchester offices, Greenwood will be providing experienced building services engineering to the multi-disciplinary consultancy. He brings extensive experience to the role, including financial and project risk management, and a proven track record in building highly successful and technically strong teams from previous positions.

Holding senior positions at WSP and Watermans, most recently he was a partner with Hoare Lea, where he has helped the Leeds-based firm to grow the MEP and sustainability team from 28 to 52 during his five-years in post. He has supported clients including York Teaching Hospitals, the Ministry of Defence, the RAF, HSBC and the University of Leeds.

Greenwood’s appointment further strengthens the senior management team in the North of England. It follows Nick Barringer taking the post of technical director in the Manchester office in late 2024.
