It was a proud dad moment for Anthony Martin as he recorded the crowd cheering at his son Chris Martin’s performance during British rock band Coldplay’s final concert in Ahmedabad last Sunday.
As Coldplay created history at Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera with its biggest concert ever in Ahmedabad, a viral video of Chris Martin’s father, proudly filming the band’s fans cheering and singing along and capturing the energy of the crowd is winning hearts.
The electrifying performances of the British rock band held as part of the second leg of its ‘Music of the Spheres’ world tour drew over 1 lakh fans on January 26. Sharing the video on Instagram, a user wrote, “He is not just Chris’ (@coldplay) dad, he is everybody’s dad in the band and the crew! He is THE DAD. You will never forget him if you have met him. He also took one of the fans shawl which she had knitted for Chris more about him and his kindness later in the series of reels. I had such an honour to spend this precious time with him all this 2 days, dancing with him on the songs was just crazy amazing (best moments are never for the camera so what you see is lil 20%).”

With nearly three million views, the video left several fans emotional. Taking the opportunity to express love, a user wrote, “This is so beautiful! A father never stops celebrating his child’s success, even years after his boy has been ruling the hearts of millions! It’s clear where the magic within Chris (as well as Guy, Jonny, Will) comes from.” Another user commented, “Omg I spent with him 3 hours at the airport without knowing he was the father of Chris Martin.”

Led by Chris Martin, Coldplay wrapped their India tour with a phenomenal stint in Ahmedabad. The band will next perform in Hong Kong from April 8 to 12.
