A 40-year-old Arnprior resident is facing 30 charges after a joint investigation that wrapped up this week into allegations of child abuse.
The Renfrew detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police investigated with assistance from Renfrew County Family and Children’s Services.
The suspect was not publicly identified by police to protect the identity of the victims, but the OPP said in a news release on March 19 that the charges included: 23 counts of assault; one count each of spousal assault and assault causing bodily hard (choke, suffocate or strangle); two counts of uttering threats; and three counts of killing or injuring animals.

The OPP release also said the suspect had been released from custody and was scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 30.
