A 2-year-old boy was hospitalized after being shot on Monday evening in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood, Chicago police.
The shooting was reported at approximately 8:26 p.m. along North Lawndale Avenue near West Ferdinand Street. According to police, a 2-year-old boy entered a bedroom where an unsecured gun was located, and a man in the residence heard a loud noise.
The boy had sustained a graze wound to the left wrist, police stated. He was taken to an area hospital in good condition.
No one was in custody, and a weapon was recovered by officers on the scene.
