Chase bank confirms it will shut down all 4,700  branches for entire day – and Bank of America won’t be any help

CHASE Bank will close all its branches for an entire day for an important reason.

Customers looking to visit one of the chain’s 4,700 locations soon must keep an eye out for an important change.

Some Americans may struggle to access their bank in person in a few days.

Chase Bank will not be the only bank to shut all its locations for a day, as Bank of America will follow suit.

These banks will be closed on New Year’s Day.

This is because the first day of the year is a federal holiday.

Most banks follow these holidays and give their employees the day off.

This means all Chase Bank locations will close their brick-and-mortar locations.

Some online or mobile banking customers will also be affected by this closure.

The holiday period could affect how long it takes certain transactions to go through.

Therefore, updated transaction information might not be displayed until the next business day or even after the holidays.

Will banks be open on New Year’s Eve?

Most banks will be open on December 31 as that day is not a federal holiday.

Chase Bank locations will be open on New Year’s Eve.

Bank of America will also be open for customers on December 31.

These banks are also closed on other federal holidays throughout the years.

Some of these include Christmas Day, Memorial Day, and Thanksgiving.

Money Woes

Although these banks will only be shut for the day some financial institutions have recently waved goodbye to some locations for good.

PNC is set to close down another branch just a year after shutting down a separate location a half-mile away, The U.S. Sun has previously reported.

The spot at 2085 E University Drive in Auburn will close for good on February 21, 2025, according to a company spokesperson.

It is due to consolidate with the Tiger Town branch which is at 2426 Enterprise Drive in Opelika.

This latest closure comes just a year after the Pennsylvania-based bank pulled down the shutters at another branch on 1433 Opelika Road.

The spot was less than half a mile away from the Auburn branch.
