Gogglebox viewers were left unimpressed just minutes into the new series as they slammed the format change.
The Channel 4 hit show usually sees regular families and friends react to the week’s top TV shows and films.
However on Friday (June 6) night a celebrity spin-off made a return to screens as a number of fresh famous faces sat down to watch some of our favourite TV shows.
Paddy McGuinness and Vernon Kay as well as Clare Balding and Alice Arnold were among the long list of stars who have joined the new series.
Old favourites like TV presenter Rylan Clark and his mother Linda and radio presenter Nick Grimshaw and his niece Liv made their return to the show.

They were also joined by some new faces including TV personality Vicky Pattison and The Only Way Is Essex star Pete Wicks.
Those who tuned in saw the stars tune into hit shows such as Race Across the World, Faking It, Celebrity Bridge of Lies, Silence Is Golden, Big Zuu and AJ Tracey’s Rich Flavours, Canal Boat Diaries, and ITV News – Trump and Musk.
However viewers watching at home wasted no time sharing their reaction to the spin off as they claimed the Celebrity version felt ‘forced’.
One viewer wrote on X, formerly known as twitter: “Not the dreaded celebrities again, so many of them are so annoying #Celebritygogglebox.”
Another fumed: “We watch normal #Gogglebox because it’s hilarious and we love all the families. #celebritygogglebox is not funny and we couldn’t care less about the celebs. It’s just people watching telly.”
A third commented: “Celebrity Gogglebox just isn’t funny like the original, it feels forced! #gogglebox #Celebritygogglebox.”
However not every was agent the idea as one fan commented: “#Celebritygogglebox #Gogglebox 1st minute & we see Alex Scott & Jess Glynn. I’m already into this series, I hope we get to see the Eubanks too, TV gold are Chris & Junior.”
It comes as Rylan recently opened up about his mums TV future as fans have called for the mother and son duo to have their own television show,
He told the Daily Star: “We’ve been offered hundreds of things. We got asked to do a travel show and the chance to go here and go there.
“It would be hilarious, but she’s just not well enough to do it. Gogglebox is enough for us. She feels comfortable doing that show because we’re just sat in my kitchen.”
