EXCLUSIVE: Oscar nominee Candy Clark (American Graffiti), Jake Choi (Single Parents), Kelli Garner (Lars And The Real Girl), Madeline Zima (Californication), Ludi Lin (Mortal Kombat) and Ryan Hansen (Party Down) are among cast for comedy feature Reunion, produced by Media Res.

Written and directed by first generation Korean American John W. Kim, the movie follows an Asian American funeral home worker who goes to his high school reunion with the hope of jump-starting his life, only to be mistaken for the most successful alumnus of another school – a mysterious Asian billionaire whom no one has seen since graduation.

Pic is produced by Noah Pitifer, Michael Winnick, and John W. Kim. Executive producers include Sebastian Twardosz and the late Fred Roos, regular collaborator of Francis Ford Coppola.

Filmed entirely in Los Angeles, production started on the day of the devastating Eaton and Pacific Palisades fires. Despite the challenge, the team were able to complete filming, providing a level of relief to those cast and crew impacted by the fires.

Other cast includes Helena Mattsson, Crystal Rivers, Frantz Latten, Charlie Bodin, Sarah Waisman, Nestor Rodriguez, and Hayden Szeto.

Reunion speaks to anyone who has ever been invisible in a room, unseen by those around us, the comedy and pathos coming from being misidentified, even for a moment, while imagining what might have been and the road not taken,” said John W. Kim.

Producer Noah Pitifer added: “We wanted to bring independent film production back to Los Angeles. There is something magical about filming here and we hope more productions will follow. After the Eaton and Palisades fires, we felt it was important to stay and express support for the communities around us.”
