Sources close to the Beckhams claim David and Victoria are desperately worried about their son
The marriage between Brooklyn Beckham and American actress Nicola Peltz has reportedly caused a divide within the Beckham family.
In a Mirror exclusive, friends of David and Victoria have revealed that the proud parents of four believe Nicola is “isolating” their eldest son from not only them but his friends and extended family members.
Showbiz Editor Tom Bryant reports that the Beckham parents fear their daughter-in-law is separating Brooklyn from his family and “is creating conflict that isn’t there”.
Sources close to Nicola have previously insisted that as an “outsider coming into the Beckham family…..she has helped Brooklyn see the emotional abuse and toxic behaviour within his family”.
Her pals claim that Brooklyn and her both want “nothing more than to be loved and supported” but that “Victoria and David make that virtually impossible”.
The reports of a feud come just days after Brooklyn pledged his loyalty to his wife in a social media post, saying: “I always choose you, baby.”
Sharing a video to his Instagram, the 26-year-old is seen riding a red motorcycle with Nicola, 30, sat behind with her arms wrapped around him as they travel along the road.
He puts his hand up to hold and caress her arm in the clip which he shared alongside the telling caption.
The family divide appeared to come to a head earlier this month when Brooklyn and Nicola snubbed David’s 50th birthday celebrations.
Not only did the pair not attend either of the London or Miami events held in honour of the footballing icon, they remained silent on social media in a huge snub to both parents.
Youngest son Cruz, 20, appeared to hit back at his older sibling on social media by siding firmly with his parents.
He posted an Instagram Story with a family photo, thanking David and Victoria for caring for the family “no matter what”.
He wrote: “I love my family, I love you guys more than anything, mum & dad you gave us life and cared for us no matter what, I cannot tell you how blessed we all are to have you in our lives x.”
Sources say friends of the Beckham’s are particularly perturbed by the fact Brooklyn has more than 70 tattoos dedicated to Nicola – as well as members of her family inked on his body
A source added: “I think anyone can see that’s problematic to say the least, and it’s another facet of an unhealthy relationship. But he is totally besotted.”
Among the tats, Brooklyn has a love letter from Nicola inked on his neck, with the note reading: “My forever boy. Read this anytime you feel anxious…
“I want you to know how deeply loved you are. You have the kindest heart I’ve ever met and I hope I never go a day without your love.”
Sources say the family’s trouble dates back to preparations for Brooklyn and Nicola’s extravagant wedding in Florida in 2022.
During the lead-up, and even at the wedding itself, Nicola is said to have completely ignored Romeo’s then-girlfriend, Mia Regan – despite her and Romeo having been together for three years at that point.
Guests were reportedly left perplexed by the bride’s attitude, describing it as “absolutely baffling.”
The brothers, once extremely close and known for doting on their younger siblings Cruz and Harper, 13, have grown apart, the insider added.
“Things have been terrible for a long time. It has upset their mum and dad so much. All they ever wanted was a big, happy family.”
