Brooke Shields reveals doctor performed shocking procedure without consent during labia surgery

Brooke Shields has opened up about her surgeon performing a shocking procedure without her consent in her upcoming memoir.

In Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman, which is available on January 14, the Blue Lagoon actress revealed her experience with an invasive plastic surgeon.

The mom-of-two recalled dealing with major discomfort due to the length of her labia – and the surgery she underwent to fix her health issues.

Brooke, 59, said she dealt with chafing and bleeding since high school, until her ‘wonderful’ gynecologist recommended she consider a labia reduction.

‘Of course, it’s not covered by insurance because it’s considered cosmetic, which is very interesting,’ the Pretty Baby actress wrote.

‘The last time I did check, I did not want to be a porn star,’ Brooke quipped in her upcoming memoir.

Brooke ended up spending money on the procedure in hopes it would relieve her discomfort.

Unfortunately, when she visited her Beverly Hills surgeon for a check-up after the surgery, he ‘proudly’ told the model he threw in ‘a little twofer’ – vaginal rejuvenation.

However, she had not asked or consented to the procedure.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, vaginal rejuvenation ‘can be done for cosmetic reasons or to solve age-related problems, such as lack of vaginal tightness and urinary incontinence.’

The Cleveland Clinic explains, ‘Due to causes ranging from childbirth and aging to genetics, your vagina and its surrounding tissues may lose elasticity and strength,’ which can lead to ‘several issues,’ including ‘vaginal dryness, sagging skin and lack of sexual pleasure.’

The Mother of the Bride actress said she was ‘dumbfounded’ and compared the ‘irreversible… invasion’ to a ‘rape of some kind.’

Brooke has opened up about other traumatic experiences in the past.

In her 2023 Pretty Baby documentary she revealed that she was raped by a Hollywood executive when she was 22.

Brooke hid the rejuvenation from her husband, writer and producer Chris Henchy, ‘for the longest time’ because she felt ‘shame.’

Brooke and her husband met in 1999 on the Warner Brothers lot and got engaged in July 2000 while vacationing in Mexico before tying the knot in 2001.

The couple are proud parents to daughters Rowan Henchy, 21, and Grier Henchy, 18, who are both students at Wake Forest University in North Carolina.

Brooke and her daughters are quite close and even have a handful of meaningful matching tattoos together.

The Endless Love actress worried the story was ‘too graphic or simply TMI,’ but wanted to divulge her experience to potentially help other women.

‘If we are to change the way we approach and talk about women’s health, then we need to bring up the uncomfortable but very real issues,’ Brooke explained.

‘Shame is no longer an option,’ Brooke said.
