This week, British Columbia and Prince Edward Island (PEI) have both issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through their respective Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs).
British Columbia targeted foreign entrepreneurs who have already established a new business or purchased an existing business in the province, issuing invitations under two of its Entrepreneur Immigration streams.
PEI’s third draw of the year focused on individuals already living and working within the province in priority occupations and sectors deemed critical to supporting its economic growth.

British Columbia (March 14 – 21)
On March 18, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) held a draw under its Entrepreneur Immigration category, targeting foreign entrepreneurs under its Base Stream and Regional Stream.
A total of 8 ITAs were issued to eligible entrepreneurs under the Base Stream, with candidates needing a minimum score of 115 to have been eligible. The candidate’s registration score—consisting of points based on human capital and economic factors—and business concept contributed to overall consideration.
Under its Regional stream, fewer than five entrepreneurs who were referred to the BC PNP by a participating community received an ITA for provincial nomination. A minimum score of 123 was required for consideration.

PEI (March 14 – 21)
On March 20, the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) conducted a draw through two pathways: Labour Impact and Express Entry.
This draw saw a total of 124 ITAs issued to candidates currently working in occupations and priority sectors deemed crucial to PEI’s economic growth.
The focus was on in-province individuals, particularly those who have been working and living in PEI for at least a year.
The higher-demand sectors that PEI’s Office of Immigration is prioritizing at this time include
- Healthcare;
- Trades; and
- Manufacturing.
