Bicyclist severely injured in Los Angeles hit-and-run crash

Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who left a bicyclist severely injured in L.A.’s Pico-Union neighborhood.

The crash occurred on May 28 as the bicyclist was traveling southbound on Hoover Street on the sidewalk around 3:15 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

As the bicyclist rode through the intersection, a driver in a white sedan making a left turn onto 20th Street struck the man.

Surveillance footage released on July 17 showed the violent impact propelled the victim into the air before he landed on the roadway. The suspect did not stop to check on him and continued speeding away.

Due to the grainy footage, police were unable to provide a possible make or model of the suspect’s white sedan. No further details were released as the incident remains under investigation.
