Bengaluru’s traffic woes turn into ‘tourist attraction’ in Infosys director’s viral post: ‘Chaar Jam Yatra’ | Trending News

Bengaluru’s notorious traffic jams are in the limelight again, this time with a twist. Infosys director Mohandas Pai shared an image advertising a “4-day, 3-night Bengaluru ‘traffic tourism’ package,” on X. The spoof poster highlighted some of the most gridlocked areas of the city—Outer Ring Road, Silk Road Junction, Marathahalli, and HSR Layout—as must-visit destinations.

While sharing the post, Pai wrote, “A sad joke on Bengaluru. At least we have a sense of humour about our suffering and an uncaring government.”

The post quickly went viral, racking up over a lakh views and triggering a heated debate. Some users found the satire spot-on, while others weren’t as amused. One person said, “Finally, Bengaluru folks have moved on from their weather bubble and are speaking up about the chaos in the city!”

Another user said, “Meanwhile, Bengaluru’s 10-minute delivery apps somehow still manage to function.”

However, not everyone took it lightly. An X user wrote, “The real problem is people driving alone in cars, from small hatchbacks to massive SUVs. If this comfort-and-status-driven habit stopped, traffic density could drop by 50% or more.”

“Hebbal Flyover is missing from this itinerary—definitely deserves a spot!” commented a fourth user.

Amid the online chatter, Pai met Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to discuss Bengaluru’s pressing infrastructure issues. Speaking to the media after their discussion, Pai stressed the need for holistic urban planning, including better roads, sidewalks, and metro expansion. He shared that Shivakumar has assured him of “significant development within six months,” and expressed confidence that the concerns raised would be addressed.
