Ashley Tisdale reveals her daughter mistook Zac Efron for her DAD while watching High School Musical

Ashley Tisdale has shared her three-year-old daughter’s hilarious reaction to seeing High School Musical for the first time.

The actress, 39, explained during a recent appearance on the Breaking Beauty Podcast that her daughter Jupiter actually believed that her costar Zac Efron was her father after watching the beloved Disney Channel flick.

Ashley said that her husband, Christopher French, showed the film to the youngster ‘about a year ago.’

‘She thought Zac Efron was her dad,’ she recalled with a laugh. ‘I was like, “No, that’s not daddy. Just cause they [both] have dark hair, it’s not daddy.”‘

The star, who famously portrayed Sharpay Evans in the movie, said her daughter doesn’t quite understand what acting is just yet, but added that she did start to notice that some things about her life are abnormal.

‘She did start to get to the age where she’s questioning why people take pictures with me. And I truly did not know how to answer that,’ shared Ashley.

‘I just said, “I don’t know.” I think she actually thinks you just take pictures with people.’

Ashley and Christopher wed in 2014 and welcomed Jupiter in March 2021. They went on to have a second daughter, Emerson, in September.

People on the web were left in shambles over Ashley’s admission.

After popular X account Popcrave shared her quote on the platform, it quickly went viral.

‘This is the cutest thing I’ve read today,’ one person replied.

‘Now this is the tea i wanna see on my feed,’ someone else wrote.

‘And just like that… I’m delusional again… High school music: reunion when?’ another user joked.

‘She’s wrong, that IS daddy,’ a fourth tweet read, while a fifth said, ‘Lmfao girl me too.’

Ashley previously said that she was never attracted to her costar Zac, 37, because saw him more like a ‘brother.’

‘It’s because I was friends with him before the movie,’ she said back in 2022. ‘He was way younger than me. He was like a brother, too.’

Elsewhere during the interview, Ashley spoke about how becoming a mom for the second time differed from the first.

‘It’s been different this time around becoming a mom compared to the first time. I think it was less of a shock,’ she explained.

‘I had postpartum depression the first time so it was really rough and I’m so grateful to get to experience it this time where I don’t [have it] because I just felt not present a lot of the time with Jupiter when she was younger.

‘It wasn’t until she turned two that I was out of that anxiety mode.’

Ashley explained that she went through an ‘identity crisis’ after she gave birth to Jupiter.

‘For 35 years I knew who I was I felt and knew what I wanted to do. Then it was like, I’m mom now, how does that fit into my life and what does that mean?’ she recalled.

‘It really was like a grieving process of who I used to be.’
