Enzo Biochem is a healthcare company that gives diagnostic testing among other services.
The settlement is for those whose personal information was potentially compromised in the Enzo Biochem data breach on April 6, 2023.
It also benefits those who received a mail notice from Enzo informing them their information may have been compromised.
Plaintiffs in the lawsuit claim the company failed to implement reasonable cyber security measures to prevent such a breach.
They added that as a result of the breach, they suffered damages like risk of identity theft as well as fraud.
The company hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to the $7.5 million settlement to resolve such allegations.
Members can receive up to a whopping $10,000 for documented losses that relate to the data breach.
These losses include un-reimbursed fraudulent charges, identity theft expenses, as well as credit monitoring costs and computer software expenses.
Those who didn’t experience documented damages can opt to receive a cash fund payment, which would be a pro rate share of the net settlement fund.
For this, no documentation is required to get the cash.
No matter what payment option you choose, all class members are eligible for two years of free credit monitoring as well as insurance services through Medical Shield Premium.
But be quick as the deadline for exclusion and objection is May 23, 2025.
And the final approval hearing for the settlement is set for June 10, 2025.
If you want to receive settlement benefits as a class member, you must submit a valid claim form by June 23, 2025.

You can use documentation of reimbursed losses like bank statements, invoices, and credit card statements as proof.
If you do not qualify for the settlement you must not to file a claim.
What’s a class-action settlement?

Class action lawsuits offer groups of people, or ‘classes,’ a way to band together in court.
These suits are often brought by one or a few people who allege a company or other entity has wronged a large group of people.
When a suit becomes a class action, it extends to all “class members,” or people who may have similar complaints to those who filed the suit.
Companies often settle class actions – offering payment to class members who typically waive their right to pursue further legal action by accepting money.
These payout agreements frequently include statements by the defendant denying wrongdoing. Companies tend to settle class actions to avoid the costs of further litigation.
Pollution, discrimination, or false advertising are a few examples of what can land a class action on a company’s doorstep.
