Amber Alert canceled after woman discovered fatally stabbed Thursday evening – Chicago Tribune

An Amber Alert for a young boy was canceled overnight after a 33-year-old mother was found stabbed multiple times inside a Grand Crossing neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 7 p.m., a woman was found stabbed in the abdomen and back at a residence in the 7100 block of South Eberhart Avenue. She was taken to UChicago Medicine where she was pronounced dead.

She was identified as Teone Jones of the same address where she was fatally stabbed, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

An Amber Alert went out Thursday night for an 8-year-old boy thought to be the victim’s child, but it was canceled after he was located.

No one was in custody for the fatal stabbing and detectives were investigating.
