All the parts of England set to be hit by a “dramatic” and “blistering” UK heatwave next week – measuring as high as 32C on the thermometers – have been revealed.

Weather maps and charts from Netweather TV, which uses Met Desk data, have been branded “dramatic” by multiple national media outlets. At least one publication has also suggested the impending heatwave could be “blistering”.

The heatwave is courtesy of a Iberian peninsula plume, with hot air from Spain in the European Union sizzling dozens of cities and counties. The heatwave could kick off at June 20, with 28C highs widespread- potentially rising to 30C at times.,

One map suggests 32C could strike. Simon King, from the BBC Weather team, says: “The outlook into the weekend remains rather mixed with further sunny spells and showers.

“Even beyond, if you are checking for your local weather on the BBC Weather app, you might see the shower symbol featuring quite a lot. The Atlantic influence and low pressure is likely to continue into next week with the wettest weather towards northern and western areas of the UK.

“Some brighter and slightly warmer conditions are more likely around mid-week, especially in southern areas. Temperatures may start to increase by mid-week too.”

Areas set to benefit include Somerset, the West Midlands, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Yorkshire, Sussex, Cambridgeshire, Kent, Essex, Durham, Cumbria, Northumberland, Warwickshire, Derbyshire, Cheshire, Suffolk, Yorkshire, Nofolk, Lancashire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Shropshire, Greater London, Buckinghamshire, Northants, Nottinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Hertfordshire, and Bedfordshire.

The Beeb has also issued an update over what lies ahead, saying of June 8 to June 19: “According to certain weather forecast models a return to drier and warmer than average conditions still remains the more probable outcome over the course of next week.

“The latter would be related to a stronger high pressure signal across parts of continental Europe and into Scandinavia, with low pressure retreating somewhere between Iceland and Greenland. As a result at least Scotland and Northern Ireland and some western parts are expected to see wetter and windier weather during this period.

“Scotland and perhaps Northern Ireland are likely to have slightly cooler conditions compared to the rest of the UK. However, an increasing number of longer-term weather forecast models depict an ongoing windier and wetter period including shorter drier spells as well.

“This would go hand-in-hand with the low pressure situated closer to the UK. Temperatures would be lower in that case, probably ending up near the seasonal average.”
