A witness said they saw ‘teenagers crying’
Police are responding to an incident at an amusement park in Wales this evening.
An air ambulance was seen landing near Barry Island Pleasure Park in south Wales. Witnesses at the scene said they saw “lots of people” being escorted from the park, and that they saw “teenagers crying”, the Mirror reports.
Witnesses said there has been a large police presence inside the park this evening, with some seen holding up a white sheet before the air ambulance left.
Pictures and video footage captured the air ambulance landing and taking off.
South Wales Police said: “Emergency services are responding to an incident in Barry Island Pleasure Park. Please avoid the area. More details will follow as soon as available.
In a follow-up statement, the force called on the public not to speculate about what may have happened, saying it would provide “factual” updates at a later point.
A spokesperson for the service said: “We will bring you the latest on this incident as soon as we can – all our updates must be factual and we ask in the meantime that people do not speculate about the nature of the incident and only share factual information which we have released.”
