As companies attempt to shift to zero carbon modes of business, AFRY Management Consulting has launched a new offering. The firm’s transition hub will aid clients as they move towards a more sustainable future.
Despite making early progress on the decarbonisation, efforts to remodel the global economy to be net zero have stalled in recent years. And while the wider continent of Europe still holds a ‘leadership’ position in terms of early decarbonisation, the majority of its companies are also likely to miss their net zero targets now.
Headquartered in Sweden, AFRY Management Consulting is the consulting wing of AFRY, a global engineering company with more than 19,000 experts in more than 50 offices around the world. Specialising in business transformation, the consultancy is now looking to use this expertise to supercharge the net zero transition.
A comment from the firm via its website said, “The shift from fossil fuels and fossil-based materials to renewable and low-carbon alternatives represents one of the most significant challenges of our time. At AFRY, we believe that it is possible to transition towards a low-carbon economy while also promoting economic growth by implementing innovative technologies and forward-thinking policies.
In response to the pressing issues, AFRY is stepping up to lead its clients towards a sustainable future. With deep knowledge across sectors critical to the sustainability transition, the company is rolling out a new thought leadership platform – AFRY’s Transition Hub – where it will share insights, reports and inspiring examples for a sustainable future.
Speaking via the hub’s new website, Henrik Tegnér, EVP and head of strategy and sustainability at AFRY, added, “There is no silver bullet. Although, we know that with the technology available today, we can decarbonise 80% of our energy system. It is time to scale the solutions at hand and ensure a just transition for all. At AFRY, we are committed to being part of the solution, working together with businesses and policymakers to make it happen.”
