‘Adore you’: Fans’ gushing tributes to Alex Jones as BBC makes announcement

Famous faces gushed over the One Show star ahead of an important anniversary

In 2010, Alex Jones was named the new presenter of The One Show, replacing Christine Bleakley. This week she will be celebrating 15 years presenting the show, and in celebration the BBC have announced a special episode of the show to commemorate the occasion.

Not only that, but The One Show posted a touching tribute to the presenter on social media, featuring a video of Alex from every year she has presented the show from 2010 through to 2025. It features Alex sporting numerous different hairstyles and a variety of colourful outfits.

They shared a post saying: “15 fabulous years of smiles, stories, and sparkle! Here’s to Alex Jones – the heart of The One Show throughout the years!” For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter.

They added: “Join The One Show to help celebrate, this Friday August 8 on BBC One & @bbciplayer”

The TV presenter joked in the comment section of the video, looking back at her different styling choice over the years. Alex said: “The fashions.”

Fans of the One Show veteran took to the comments to share their support and celebrations.

Presenter Zoe Ball said: “Adore you Al. happy anniversary. queen of the green sofa.”

Comedian Jason Manford said: “You’re the best.”

Other celebs including Helen Skelton, Clara Amfo and Lauren Laverne also shared their well wishes.

This Friday, August 8, The One Show will celebrate Alex’s 15th year fronting the programme, which she addressed at the beginning of Monday’s show.

As the episode kicked off, the 48-year-old welcomed her co-host Ronan Keating back to the show after a lengthy break.

She said: “Look who is back for one night only, it’s lovely Ronan.”

He replied: “Alex, thank you, it’s good to be back. Especially, as this month marks 15 years of you on this show.”

Alex added, “Stop! Stop, I can’t believe it, they’re going to send me back any minute.”
