A young piglet is in search of a new home, the Framingham Police Department said on Tuesday.

In a Facebook post, the department said the pig was abandoned by their owner. A good Samaritan spotted the porker and contacted Animal Control, the department said.

Since the police department is not equipped to care for a piglet, police said they will take the piglet to the Animal Rescue League of Boston.

A spokesperson for the ARL said the pig is not yet in their care, but should be by Wednesday afternoon. Once they receive the piglet, the spokesperson said the ALR’s vet team will evaluate the piglet and give it some time to settle in.
