The Channel 4 presenter regularly updates fans on Instagram
A Place in the Sun’s Laura Hamilton has issued a career update as she told her followers “that’s a wrap”. The 42-year-old is renowned for her role as a presenter on the popular Channel 4 programme. Laura has appeared on the show since 2011, making her the second-longest serving presenter behind Jasmine Harman.
Laura is one of many property experts who help holidaymakers find their dream home in the sun. The presenter has filmed episodes of the show in locations across the globe and her personality has made her a fan-favourite with a large social media following of over 200K. Laura regularly shares updates from her exciting life in showbiz on Instagram.
A Place in the Sun has recently underwent a major change as the show was moved to a new timeslot at 6pm. Currently, the show is airing its ‘What Happened Next?’ series, where the property experts catch up with house hunters who bought their place abroad on the Channel 4 show.
Laura re-shared an announcement to confirm the next season of the programme would be returning to our screens earlier this year. Followers took to the comments to share their excitement after the announcement.
Julann said: “Fabulous!” Vikkie took to the comments and added: “Can’t wait.” Vinden also took to the comments and posted: “Great idea!”
More recently, Laura took to Instagram to say: “That’s a wrap!” as she has finished filming another property show. She kept her lips sealed, not revealing any details about the new programme.
Laura wrote: “That’s a wrap! We have been filming something fun at home today… COMING SOON…” Viewers took to the comments to support the star, one wrote: “Well done Laura.” Another said: “Inspirational Woman. How you juggle all that life throws at you and still be so authentic.”
Speaking at the Ideal Home Show, Laura was asked what her future on A Place in the Sun looks like. She replied: “I’ve been in television and the industry for a very long time.
“Since I was 18! So I got into presenting when I was 22, and I very much hope to be continuing filming, filming with A Place in the Sun and new property stuff. I am actively involved in property away from any TV-related stuff that I do.”
Although the show is on for an hour each weekday, Laura revealed the whole process takes part over five days, which allows the experts to know the couple looking for their dream home.
She added: “I guess they feel like they know us because the show is the second longest-running show on Channel 4. So people do feel like they know us and they’re comfortable with us. It’s great for me, it’s the perfect thing! A bit of travel, a bit of property and the people!”
