“Big fan, bro.”

Following Sunday’s 30-17 loss to the Cardinals — and New England’s fourth straight defeat — the Patriots had little cause to celebrate.
But second-year cornerback Christian Gonzalez has been one of the few glimmers of hope amid a lackluster season for New England. Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray seemed to acknowledge this too.
In a “mic’d up” video posted to the Patriots’ X account, the cornerback can be seen briefly interacting with Murray and receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. after the game. The clip features more audio from live coverage of the game than from Gonzalez himself.
“Big fan, fella. Big fan, bro,” Murray said. “Keep doing your thing.”
Gonzalez also told Harrison, “Hey, keep going, you’re the truth.” The rookie receiver replied with, “You too.”
Gonzalez allowed one catch for 23 yards while shadowing Harrison on 21 routes on Sunday. He also made three pass breakups, two of which were in the end zone and prevented touchdowns.
Analyst and broadcaster Ross Tucker said, “I think the Cardinals need to stop trying to throw to Harrison Jr. when Gonzalez is matched up on him. He can’t beat him.”
Along with Drake Maye, Gonzalez showed a strong performance against Arizona. New England’s first-round picks from the last two years could be setting a solid foundation for the rebuilding Patriots.
