With Gujarat BJP in the process of overhaul of its organisation, party sources say that the Union Minister for Home and Cooperation, Amit Shah, will “definitely” have a say in the appointments of the district and city unit presidents. The appointment to the posts of president of cities and districts of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar will outrightly be a choice of ‘Amitbhai’, the sources added. A top party source said, “Amitbhai (Shah) represents Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency which includes parts of both the districts. So, the appointments to the top party posts in the two districts and cities will bear the clear stamp of Amitbhai.”
Gujarat At Kumbh
As lakhs of devotees throng Maha Kumbh at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, the Gujarat government has set up a state pavilion there to ensure that Gujarati devotees do not face any difficulty and get all the facilities. The pavilion has been set up by Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited with an aim to showcase the state’s diverse heritage and best tourist destinations to devotees from across the world. It also has stalls presenting handicrafts and Gujarati dishes. Apart from the pavilion, the Gujarat government has also launched a helpline number (1800-180-5600) to assist people with all the information related to the Maha Kumbh 24X7.
