Immersive Forest-Surrounded Homes : kw house

Architects Bastian San Martin and Eugenio Simonetti work together to complete the KW House located in Chile. It is a ‘study in duality,’ which contrasts the living spaces opened by glass walls and the intimate bedrooms lined with wooden materials. It is located in an area of protected forests right by the Villarica volcano and the home is meant to immerse the visitors in the forest its nestled in.

Simonetti spoke to Dezeen about the design, noting “KW House is a study in duality, combining a bold engagement with the natural environment on the first floor with a carefully crafted sense of seclusion on the second. This duality not only reflects the seasonal adaptability of the house but also serves the diverse needs of its inhabitants, whether connecting with nature or seeking privacy.”
