Dear Reader,
You might be wondering what happened. Some readers won’t care, and say they just want their forecasts, and I understand that. For those who are interested, I will explain.
I am in Los Angeles, writing to you from my hotel room. I flew here to be with my daughter Diana Miller for Christmas, for she has a darling little baby boy, now age 2, and I wanted to see little Oliver open the gifts that Santa Claus brought him. (I sent several boxes of toys, all pre-wrapped with ribbons that we prepared in my office in New York, so it was a “UPS Christmas in a box”).
On Christmas Eve morning at 5 AM I was up. After peeking behind the couch to see if something fell behind it, I didn’t see my black ballet slipper and fell backward on the carpet. I used my right hand to stop the fall, but afterward, it hurt a lot. In a nano second I found myself taking an Uber to Urgent Care.
I had given my right wrist a nasty sprain. At least it was not broken, and I didn’t hit my head (being thankful for that). The doctor told me I had to rest it completely for three weeks. I was in shock—“Three weeks! I don’t have three weeks! I write for a living!”
The doctor gave me a pathetic look, as if she’s heard comments like this before, and reminded me, “It’s your right HAND! You are right-handed! Think about this.” A sprain can be as painful as a break, she explained, as she put my tender right hand into a Velcro brace. I tried to type but Mother Nature was making it hard. I had written so much, and I was in the middle of Aquarius when his happened.
You know how people always say, “It could always be worse!” Well, it was about to become worse. I called my editor-in-chief of Astrology Zone, Edward Rubinstein, who is based in Philadelphia. When he answered the phone, he sounded terrible with a heavy cold. “What happened to you?” He said “Oh, nothing, but I sleep between each of your forecasts, and the other editors are working some of the other forecasts you’ve sent.” I thought that was all that could happen.
My stomach was feeling weirdly queasy, but I ignored it. I had a headache, which I never get. My wrist was killing me, and typing with my left hand was taking forever. I went to sleep, only to be awakened in the middle of the night with a violent stomach flu. Just when I thought nothing more could possibly come up from my stomach, more did.
I was so sick that I had to cancel my second speaking event this month at Soho House West Hollywood, and I am so sorry. I have never canceled an event before. My sincere apologies to these who were counting on coming.
After the flu left me, I was afraid to eat anything but did try mild food, which worked well. I was left weak and shaking for a few days but tried my best to keep my head clear to do the math for your forecasts.
Meanwhile my editor, Edward, called while I was finishing Pisces and told me to rewrite a large portion of Virgo because a certain part was not entirely clear. Edward said, “You must have written this when you were starting to get sick. This is not like you.” I sighed, what else will go wrong?
I can use my fingers now, and the swelling has gone down, which I am grateful for, and although the wrist still reminds me it needs rest, it’s so much better because I am now two weeks from the injury.
I will be back in New York later this week and doing more appearances. I am not contagious and feeling energetic. I have one more Soho House in Los Angeles appearance at the Warehouse Downtown on January 7.
This seems to be the year of the private club, and I will be doing an appearance at the Zero Bond Club on January 14 and a new private club, the elegant Casa Tua on January 15, both in New York.
My team is working with Soho House New York after the wonderful response we received in Soho House in Malibu, West Hollywood, and The Warehouse. If you have a club or group that you would like me to come to appear to give an event, please let us know. Write to [email protected].
Turning to the calendars, if you ever have problems ordering a calendar, write to us immediately. Write to [email protected]. You will have an experienced person to help you with your order—we aim to answer within 24 hours.
If you have a question abouts your subscription of Daily Astrology Zone, please, write to [email protected].
Some readers have asked if they can buy a calendar locally. We have two places so far. If you have a small business and would like to sell my calendars at a profit, please write to [email protected]. I feel you will be pleased with the profit you would make on each one you sell. Here are the two businesses that are selling my calendars.
