Boney Kapoor has been quite open about his transformation, which includes his hair transplant and weight loss journey. In a recent interview, the filmmaker also spoke about his daughter, actor Janhvi Kapoor, being conscious about her weight from a very young age. Boney said that Janhvi was “slightly plumpish” as a child.
Talking to News 18, Boney spoke about his daughter Anshula’s weight loss journey and said, “Anshula used to be heavy. Even she has lost weight.” He then spoke about Janhvi and said, “And Janhvi also, in fact, in her childhood days, she used to be slightly plumpish. Right from that age, while she was a kid, she became conscious that she should not be putting on weight.”
Boney Kapoor, in an earlier press conference, said that he has lost 14 kgs and gotten a hair transplant. In this interview, Boney shared that when he saw himself on the monitor after working in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, where he played Ranbir Kapoor’s father, he felt that he should work towards being fitter. “After Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, when I saw myself on the monitor, I felt that I should… and my kids also wanted me to look sharper, leaner, better and of course, healthwise also I needed to… I am 69 today so I am not getting any younger so there were reasons whether it was Arjun, Janhvi, Anshula, Khushi. All four in some way or the other used to convey it to me,” the filmmaker said.

Boney then said that his kids have been extremely supportive of his journey and often show their love on social media. But, he added that his son Arjun Kapoor is not very demonstrative. “When I post something on Instagram, I get comments from them. My daughters are the first to comment. Arjun is not demonstrative but I know somewhere he is also appreciative that I have lost weight, that I am in a better shape.”
